“The Strangers’ Case” film tells the story of five families and how their stories meet on the Mediterranean sea. It is adapted from Brandt Andersen’s 2020 Oscar-shortlisted short film, “Refugee.”
The film was Andersen's directorial debut and was screened at film festivals around the globe, including by the UNHCR for World Refugee Day and Banksy's Walled Off Hotel. The film earned Andersen the Best Director and Dramatic Short Film award at the 2020 French Riviera Film Festival and was short-listed for an Academy Award® for Best Live Action Short in 2020.
